Summer Opportunities

We wanted to share with you a great opportunity for you and your staff this summer. Pittsford Central School District, Honeoye Falls Lima School District, and Monroe #1 BOCES will be partnering to offer a two-day professional development opportunity this summer. The theme of the conference is "Meeting the needs of students in the 21st century". Workshop offerings will focus on information literacy, that is, providing instruction and educational experiences for students that will help them become skillful producers and consumers of quality digital information.

We have Doug Johnson presenting two keynote speeches for the conference, and two days of a variety of classes. If you are interested in attending please check out the web site. Registration can be done through Judy Lopez at BOCES. If you would like more information feel free to email Brian or Tadge.

COSER Update

It is that time of the year again. This year's COSER lesson submission deadline is June 2nd, 2006. We will continue to use blackboard.monroe.edu to post collected exemplar lessons.

The COSER submission information is available in two locations:
  1. The Model Schools Wiki (search for COSER)
  2. Monroe #1 BOCES ITS web site (click on COSER Information)
If you have specific questions about your district's requirements please contact the ITS (one of us) assigned to your district.

Get on the wiki wiki bus

We would like to take you to the wiki and give you the opportunity to contribute to the community. There is alot of knowledge in this room relating to technology and education. This space gives us all the opportunity to share what we know.

The first step if you haven't done so already is to create a login and password. Please take a minute to tell a little about who you are on your own personal page. It can be as simple as your name and title.

Then you may want to look at the course guide index and either add a page that you see is missing or add to an existing page. We will be around the room helping you learn how the wiki works and if there is a question we can't answer we can always look at MediaWikis help.
